Rob French currently serves as the Director of Special Services for the Pass Christian Public School District in Pass Christian, MS. He began his teaching career in 2004 at South Elementary in the Jackson (MO) R-II School District while serving as a baseball coach at Jackson High School. In just his second year of teaching, he was selected to be the grade-level representative to the building leadership team. In 2009, Mr. French was promoted to be the Assistant Principal-Intern for South Elementary and the Principal at Millersville Attendance Center. The positions became permanent the following school year. Mr. French was tabbed as the principal of Orchard Drive Elementary in 2011.

During his time in the Jackson (MO) R-II School District, Mr. French served on various curriculum committees and received extensive, multi-year training in Professional Learning Communities (PLC), School-Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (SW-PBIS), and Instructional Practices Inventory (IPI) for student engagement. He was also active in community organizations such as the Kiwanis Club and the American Legion of Jackson, MO, and spent summers working with children and youth at Chestnut Lake Camp in Beach Lake, PA. Mr. French gave back to Southeast Missouri State University by delivering presentations on school law related to the principalship, IDEA and 504, Classroom Management, Differentiated Instruction, and Professional Learning Communities to undergraduate and graduate education classes.

In 2013, Mr. French moved to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and accepted the Principal position at CARES School in Gulfport, MS. While in this role, he also served as the Principal at the Transitional Living and Learning Center in Saucier, MS. These accredited, non-public therapeutic schools were operated by Canopy Children’s Solutions (formerly Mississippi Children’s Home Services) and provided educational, behavioral, and therapeutic services to students with disabilities. In 2015, Mr. French was hired as the Assistant Director of Special Education for the Pass Christian School District and became the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the summer of 2017. In July of 2019, Mr. French became the Director of Special Services.

Mr. French earned a B.S in Elementary Education (2004) and an M.A. in Education Administration (2010) from Southeast Missouri State University. In 2014, he was recognized by the College of Education as the Young Alumni Merit Award winner for outstanding contributions to the field of education. In 2017, Mr. French earned his Specialist in Education from William Carey University and is currently a doctoral candidate at WCU.
